Our group works on detector materials and instrumentation for ionizing radiation, from the physics of the scintillator through to signal processing and system integration. The applications we target are medical imaging — PET, SPECT and CT — along with radiation protection and personal dosimetry. We combine detector development with the measurement infrastructure needed to characterize it, and we work with clinical and industrial partners to move results toward practical use.

Advanced detector concepts
New topologies and readout architectures, developed and characterized end to end.

Readout and instrumentation
Photosensor coupling, front-end electronics, and signal processing chains.

Imaging and dosimetry
Applying detector performance gains to clinical imaging and radiation protection.
